Garden on the outskirts of the Saint-Jean. The 600 m² garden is inspired by the gardens of the Middle Ages whose duties were to feed, heal and pray. The varieties of plant employees, the physical setting (geometric division into 4 zones), the beds separated by weirs (box) so not to step on the plants for maintenance, match what was achieved and grown Middle Ages. In the center of the garden is a pergola with roses and vines, a place for meditation and rest.
The walkways are made of different grindings (miscanthus, flax, chestnut, recycled wood, etc.). Moreover, in order to discover independently and understand the usefulness of these plants in the Middle Ages and present the different spaces, wooden signs acacia are distributed in the garden.
This medieval garden is divided into four areas ie 4 gardens in 1:
- Hortus (plants and flowers room): tarragon, buckwheat, chives, parsnips, sunflower, etc.
- Garden simple (plant care): Women parterre cuts vulnerary, stomach pain and fever.
- Garden of Mary (meditation place, plants to flower): acanthus, lavender, carnation, lily, daisies, etc.
- Utility Plants: liqueurs (Wormwood, angelica, chamomile, etc.), magic (blueberries, sage, mandrake, etc.), textile dyeing (hemp, madder, flax, etc.) and "The Bible," place meditation in honor of the deceased (chervil, hawthorn, wormwood, etc.).
