The circuit goes around the remarkable natural site of Bois des Gâts.

This 23 ha site is protected by a European scheme, Natura 2000, to preserve the important flora of the wood used as habitat for many sensitive species.

In the heart of the woods, a pedagogic trail has been set up to introduce the public to the wide variety of tree species.

There is also a health course, a bird observatory.

Access

The starting point is in the square of 18 October 1870, in the city center.

Itinerary

From the square, take rue Jean Moulin, then rue de Chartres to the Monument aux Morts.

A path allows access to the edge of the Loir.

Cross the road and take the bridge a little on your left.

Continue straight ahead and turn right into Rue de Chollet. Continue to the municipal campground.

After the campsite, on your right, take another footbridge at the mill at Tan.

1.6 km: Turn right (beautiful view of the castle) and follow the GR 35 through the Bois des Gâts.

At 4.2 km: At the top of a path through boxwood, turn left.

6.8 km: At the stop keep left on the street Tarragon and cross the street Abel Méret.

Take the opposite road that goes down and turn right towards St-Jean.

7.9 km: Turn left and pass the two arms of the Loir.

8.4 km: After the 2nd bridge, turn left through the gardens of Grands-Moulins. Cross the rue des Fouleries and take the 200 steps to the city center.

Turn left and take the rue de Luynes. You arrived in the square!
