Located in an old 19th century farmhouse, at Saint-Lô, the Norman bocage museum also presents a school apiary and an apple orchard. Currently closed, this museum opened in 1989 normally reveals to its visitors several collections around Norman rural society from the 19th century to the present day, with in particular a mixing trough for butter from 1850, a pitching awning or a locomobile steamed.
Recalling the evolution of agriculture in Normandy, the Normandy bocage museum presents more than 1,000 objects in 800 m² of exhibition space. Several spaces have been reconstructed there, such as a stable, a barn, a workshop or even a butter factory.
