7 km south of Langon, Roaillan commune covers an area of 1147 hectares. It is separated from Mazères by a small stream "The Brion", a tributary of the left bank of the Garonne is bordered to the west by a line of hills. These lands were part of the Middle Ages the manor of Roquetaillade castle situated on the right bank of Brion and overlooking the east side of the town. They were detached in the 16th century in favor of Jehan de Pontac.
