Small village of Jura with many hamlets, in Burgundy, Franche-Comté Prémanon set at the foot of Mont Fier, on the French-Swiss border. It is located near Rousses, on the edge of the Regional Natural Park of Haut-Jura.
Created in the second half of the eighteenth century, the town was once part of Prémanon land of the abbey of Saint-Claude founded in the fifth century. It is named after the monk Manon, the future St. Claude, which was cleared around the eleventh century. It is particularly illustrated in the story through the industry Morèzienne telescope, because it is on its territory that Pierre-Hyacinthe Caseaux had the idea to use the wire to manufacture the glasses.
Always full of charm, the city attracts many visitors keen to enjoy as much of its unique natural environment as its architectural heritage.
