Le Breuil

Romanesque in style, the Saint-Étienne church was built in the second half of the 12th century. Of simple architecture and no frills, it reveals a Bernardin plan adapted to the rusticity of the place. You will be able to discover a choir with a flat apse and ribbed vaults, solid buttresses or modillions in typical Cistercian gears. The entrance gate seduces with its monolithic trefoil tympanum.

Now owned by the scouts and guides of France, the Château du Breuil takes place near the pond of Torcy. Rectangular in plan, this building has very beautiful ornaments on the front part consisting of two Ionic-style pilasters and a triangular pediment with oculus.

To enjoy the local flora and fauna, head to the Montaubry pond created in the middle of the 19th century. This retention of the waters supplying the Dheune allows the practice of many water sports such as paddle, water skiing, windsurfing or wakeboarding. A 13.5 km hiking trail also allows you to go around the site.

Concerts are organized in June on the occasion of the Fête de la Musique.

Every year at the end of June, Le Breuil organizes its famous andouillette festival with entertainment and tastings.

The Fête du Bourg takes place every year at the end of July, with a country meal, musical entertainment and fireworks.

• The town of Le Breuil is proud to welcome the exhibition "Exil", works by the artist Mambo'o D27 on the first floor of the Town Hall. - This new exhibition, organised by the Office Municipal de la Culture in collaboration with the Centre Francophonie de Bourgogne, the Association PNS, the Atelier des Artistes en Exil and the Région Bourgogne Franche-Comté, will be held in the exhibition room of the Town Hall. - Born in Angola in 1990, Mambo'o D27's native country was the scene of international conflict and civil war for much of his childhood, forcing his family to emigrate to the Democratic Republic of Congo. He began his artistic career as a self-taught artist in 2004, then went on to study at the Beaux-Arts in Kinshasa (2007-2009). After arriving in Paris in 2018, he became an artist member of l'atelier des artistes en exil, where he works and takes part in the association's artistic events. - His artistic approach focuses on the notion of liminality and passage, exploring borders and established categories. His works evoke the experience of migration, highlighting the precariousness of living conditions and the construction of identities in exile. He challenges the traditional limits of the canvas by incorporating objects and elements of digital art, with the omnipresence of QR codes. - Mambo'o D27's work is an invitation to explore the intersections between the individual and the world, and at the same time to lose oneself in the visual labyrinths he creates. It's a powerful reminder of art's ability to connect us to multiple realities, while expressing the richness of the human experience.

• Le Breuil en Fête" is back again this year, with a new show. Discover a friendly, cultural and family event in the heart of our town, in the Parc du Morambeau. - The programme includes - - A dance and fire show : at nightfall, the La Salamandre company will be offering a timeless performance of Horizon, a musical show combining dance and fire on the esplanade behind the Morambeau hall. It's a 50-minute performance, dazzling and spectacular, set to pop-electro-funk rhythms. - - A musical discovery : from 4pm, the public will be able to enjoy Morambeau Park with around thirty giant instruments set up in the first part of the park, with free access. Young and old alike will be able to take part in this sensory, acoustic and fun discovery while waiting for the big show ! And from 7pm onwards, La Fanfarrosoir, a brass band from Chalon-sur-Saône, will be strolling through the park to get walkers up and dancing ! - - A food and refreshment area : the public can take advantage of the tables set up in the first part of the park to picnic or sample the dishes offered by the various food outlets.
