Le Bar-sur-Loup

Listed in the supplementary inventory of Historical Monuments, the church of Saint-Jacques-le-Majeur reveals among others a carved door, a altarpiece of Bréa of the sixteenth century, a dance on macabre on wood of the fifteenth century or statues of the seventeenth century.

Built in the thirteenth century, the castle of the Counts of Grasse was looted in 1792, then restored and divided into apartments in the nineteenth century. It is a quadrangular building built on very beautiful vaulted cellars. Not far, you can admire a square tower with a wide base that now houses a restaurant, it is the old dungeon.

While strolling in the city, you will be able to discover the bronze statue of Admiral François Joseph Paul Count of Grasse, work of Cyril de La Patellière inaugurated in 1988, or the door Sarrasine. Also called the door of the Hospital, it is the only vestige of the old walls of the village.

To admire beautiful landscapes, go to the Gorges du Loup, including the jump of the Wolf.
