Listed as an historic monument, the Saint-Victor church of Gravières, in Ardèche, was erected in the 12th century in an elegant Romanesque style of which several elements remain in the oldest parts. Enlarged and modified over the centuries, until the 16th century, it is today known for its large carved stone panel from the 14th century representing the tree of Jesse.
Passing visitors can also admire there, in addition to the Romanesque apse, a 17th century high altar donated by the wife of Napoleon III, Eugénie de Montijo.
