Things to see and do

École-Valentin main tourist attraction, the Castle of the Holy Spirit was built in the mid-sixteenth century, the Commander of the Order of the Hospitallers of the Holy Spirit himself. It would have been built on the foundations of a medieval castle, as evidenced by some stones still present. Formerly, the building was used as ceremonial, or the management of surrounding farms. One can admire a beautiful Renaissance facade, a spiral staircase, monumental fireplaces, or some beautiful French ceilings. Uninhabited between the nineteenth and twentieth century, the castle of the Holy Spirit was then used as classrooms before being bought in 2000 for renovations.

Below the town of École-Valentin, visitors can admire the St. George fountain built in 1630. It takes place on the old Roman road linking ancient Besançon to Vesoul.

The priory of the nineteenth century, and the church that dates from the same era, are also essential to École-Valentin.
