A former 12th century fortress dismantled during the Wars of Religion, the castle of Cabrerolles unveils its remains in the heart of the unspoiled landscapes of the Hérault. Installed on a rocky outcrop which once allowed it to protect the passage of the upper Orb valley, the building today unveils two watchtowers, a stately home surrounded by a fortified enclosure or a very beautiful castle chapel. fortified built in a sheer drop on the rock. Restored in the 17th century, the latter first served as a communal church before being sold as national property at the end of the 18th century under the French Revolution.
A major consolidation and restoration campaign has made it possible to preserve the remains of the castle and ensure their safety.
