Le château de Pougy

Chateau Pougy is a uniek place to stay. Just 15 minutes from the motorway and it's as if you've stepped back in time. Old authentic Chateau warmly hosted bij Antoine and Emily. We were made very welcome and after a long drive we were surprised we could order a ‘charcutrerie' (sausage, cheeses, ham, tomato, cucumber and bread with a glass of wine) for just €15 pp. Room had everything you need for a short stay. Free wifi (good reception)! Comfortable bed, fully fitted bathroom with shower over the bath. Breakfast was more than adequate with cheese, ham, confiture, croissants and rustic french bread. Home made yoghurt. Cornflakes, tea or coffee. Very good value and on site private parking. Please note there are no restaurants within walking distance. We found both the chateau and it's owners to be absolutely charming. The chateau is full and character and comfortable. The owners could not have been more obliging.

We had an overnight stay travelling from Provence and were warmly welcomed by Antoine, his wife Emilie and lovely little daughter Enis. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and there was even a living room one could use and a beautiful big garden to enjoy the sunshine with deck chairs and tables. Antoine kindly helped us with a recommendation and booking for dinner at a lovely local restaurant, Chez Irene, where we had delicious home cooked french food - some of the best! The stay included a delicious breakfast which set us up well for our final leg of our journey - just wished we could have stayed a couple more days. We would highly recommend Chateau de Pougy and thank Antoine, Emilie and Enis for their warm hospitality - such a lovely family. We hope to stay again.
