The military academy of Brienne-le-Château is famous for having welcomed Napoleon Bonaparte from 1779 to 1784. The military academy is today home to a museum dedicated to Napoleon's life.

Brienne-le-Château, capital of Northeast l'Aubois, is at the crossroads of the three great lakes and the Regional Natural Park of the Orient Forest in Aube en Champagne.

This city is primarily notable for its castle that overlooks it, but Brienne became famous residence of Napoleon in his youth at the Ecole Militaire in the city now a museum today. Other advantages make Brienne-le-Château small attractive and dynamic city such as the famous Sauerkraut Festival in September... For if one comes to Brienne Napoleon is often walks away with his bag of sauerkraut cooked with champagne.

Things to see and do

The Napoleon museum in the former Military School is closed for renovation since May 2016.
