Located at the confluence of the Dorne and the Eyrieux, in the commune of Cheylard, in Ardeche, the castle of La Chèze overhangs the village since the 13th century. At the time simple square tower, it was enlarged many times before taking its current form in the nineteenth century.
Occupied by a Jesuit college in the first half of the 19th century, it has been in restoration since the late 1980s. The building is surrounded by an 11-hectare park with a fitness trail and an orientation course. A pond has also been redeveloped at the foot of the castle, just like a French garden.
Guided tours of the site are organized in summer, or August 15 and Heritage Days.
