Since it was founded in 1877, the Bouilhet-Christofle silverware factory in La Plaine Saint-Denis has kept its sense of architectural unity. L'Orfèvrerie, a symbol of the manufacturing industry, became a residence for artists and craftspeople in 2016 and is used as a filming location for TV shows. Life at the site is due to be temporarily interrupted by an extensive programme of refurbishment work.
