Several waterfalls, the La Prade Falls (Cascade de la Prade), the Great Falls (Grande Cascade) and the Little Falls (Petites Cascades), make up the listed site of the Murel falls, 15 km north-west of Argentat in Corrèze. Listed as a Natural Area of Ecological, Faunistic and Floristic Interest, this magnificent place lies at the heart of the picturesque, craggy gorges of La Franche Valeine. To explore these marvels, you can set off form Albussac or Forgès. Easier and less athletic, the itinerary starting from Forgès will appeal to occasional walkers and families with young children.
A lovely walking trail of 5 kilometres dotted with information signs will enable you to explore the site at your own pace, all the way to the last waterfall, while you enjoy unspoilt, green countryside. Allow an hour to walk there, wearing sturdy footwear, to complete this itinerary between forest and river at a leisurely pace.
