Located at 650 meters altitude in the heart of Balcony Belledone Theys is the junction point between the spas and Allevard Uriage. The municipality covers a very large area of 3577 hectares, between the neck and the collar of Barioz Ayes and Pipay (site of the ski station of Les 7 Laux Prapoutel) by extending to neck Merdaret with its vast pastoral areas.
Residents are called Theys Siskins and Tarine.
Theys remains an agricultural town. Livestock, agriculture and forestry are still in full activity. Artisans (carpenters, joiners ...) work in the town and surrounding villages. Shops and facilities complete the picture.
The Siskins strain were able to accommodate rural neo who took up residence in the village, the cultural, sporting and other, which are integrated into many different associations and sports clubs.
Theys is a peaceful village in all seasons, was the starting point for hiking, mountain biking and other mountain summer activities and winter starting point of many winter sports.
