Town of Paris, Saint-Pierre-du-Perray takes place in the department of Essonne, about thirty kilometers from the capital, Paris. It is located not far from Evry and Corbeil-Essonnes, about twenty kilometers from Arpajon and Palaiseau.
Despite its appearance as a new city, Saint-Pierre-du-Perray has been inhabited since prehistoric times. Numerous archaeological excavations have shown the presence of man on this territory since the Upper Paleolithic. Developed in the Gallo-Roman era, the town of Ile-de-France then became a Merovingian village until the 12th century. Then replaced by a simple farm, he then grew slowly to the rhythm of his neighbor Corbeil-Essonnes in the course of the 1970s.
This important urbanization did not, however, distort the municipality of Saint-Pierre-du-Perray which continues to reveal to visitors its many natural spaces and its aspect of city in the countryside.
