Religious building from the 14th century located in the town of Rieux-Volvestre, in Haute-Garonne, the Cathedral of La Nativité-de-Marie is now listed as a Historic Monument.
Southern Gothic style, it reveals some vestiges of its original 13th century architecture, like the flat fortified chevet. Massive, the Cathedral of La Nativité-de-Marie still has watchtowers and loopholes on its exterior facades, as well as an octagonal bell tower of more than forty meters in height in the Toulouse style as well as a choir of canons from the 17th century with about sixty carved walnut stalls.
Inside, visitors will appreciate several objects classified as Historical Monuments such as a 15th century funerary slab, an 18th century chest of drawers, or the treasure with its reliquaries, statues, clothes. and its liturgical objects.
