A place of Marian pilgrimage, the Chapel of Our Lady of Schauenberg takes place in Pfaffenheim in the Grand Est. Originally built in the fifteenth century, it was enlarged in the sixteenth before being completely rebuilt at the end of the seventeenth.
After having served as a rest home for elderly or infirm brothers, the conventual buildings underwent important restoration work in the twentieth century. Today, visitors can discover the seventeenth-century chapel with its unique nave, flat choir chevet and large broken triumphal arch. It is now the subject of an inscription in the Historical Monuments.
