L'Hospital Hotel, sometimes also referred to as Pomponne Hotel or Massiac Hotel, is located at number 9 Place de la Victoire, in the 2nd arrondissement of the capital.
This square, built in the 17th century to pay tribute to the military successes of Louis XIV, is one of the four royal squares of Paris.
L'Hospital hotel was erected in 1635 for a secretary of the king, Marc-Antoine Acéré, before being acquired quickly enough by François de L'Hospital, Count Du Hallier, who gave his name to the building. The mansion again changed ownership in 1673, bought by a secretary of state for foreign affairs, Simon de Pomponne, who renovated the building. The works are then directed by the famous royal architect Jules Hardouin-Mansart.
Other owners succeed in the eighteenth century before the building was razed in 1883 when is redeveloped rue Etienne-Marcel. A Haussmann-style building was elevated in its place in 1886. It housed a business on the ground floor and housing and offices on the floors.
Classified in 1928, the building can not be visited.
