Built in the middle of the 17th century for Denis Neret, prosecutor of the Paris Chamber of Accounts, the Château des Cèdres in Montfermeil has had many owners over the centuries. Restored in the 20th century by Jules Formigé, then chief architect of the Historic Monuments, it now benefits from a registration with the Historic Monuments.
Of classical architecture, the Château des Cèdres presents an ornamentation freely mixing Greco-Roman elements or Italian and Flemish Baroque. The main facade has an avant-corps with an oculus pediment and Ionic pilasters. A magnificent wrought iron banister listed as a Historic Monument completes the set.
Bought in 1933 by the municipality, each year it hosts the sound & light of Montfermeil, as well as the Montfermeil Art'Festival.
