Former water pavilion located at Louveciennes, in Yvelines, Madame du Barry's castle is Louis XV's gift to his last favorite. Open to the public on rare occasions, the site has undergone many developments during the reign of the Countess, including the addition of the music pavilion, the orangery, the greenhouse, the Doric temple and the icehouse.
Remodeled at the same time, the park still reveals ponds, lawns and other woods full of charm. Madame du Barry's castle, in which the countess lived until her arrest in 1793, is now listed as a Historic Monument.
