Le Porge

Widely open to nature, the village of Porge offers many outdoor activities that will delight children and adults, young and old eager to practice leisure environmentally.

Le Porge ocean has large supervised beaches that open to the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean. One is nudist and is located in the resort of Jenny, but the second you can indulge in the practice of swimming, or of course surfing. You will find the Porge surf schools and instructors who can teach you the basics or perfecting this demanding sport but the incomparable sensations. But be careful not to get stuck with the Baïnes, these powerful and dangerous currents that surprise every year many vacationers.

But if the aquatic environment is not your cup of tea, do not worry, the Porge everything is made to offer you a variety of activities that appeal to all. Aficionados of the hike can eg Nordic walking, either on the sand or along the many hiking trails in the territory of the commune. It is also possible to walk to the heart of this unspoilt nature on horseback. The village has in effect riding school with instructors capable of guiding you along these paths. Mountain bike trails are also marked. If you are not equipped, no problem, you are on-site bike rentals. Finally, the most daredevil enjoy tree climbing is proposed to Porge. Nature lovers, the Porge you'll be spoiled for choice!

Each year the World Wetlands Day is celebrated on 2 February. In Porge, where these wetlands are literally part of the story of the creation of the village, no way derogate! That is why on the occasion of this International Day, a hike is organized by the town hall. It offers a journey along the interpretation of the common path to the pond since Lentrade of Langouarde.

All year, the traditional weekly market is held on Thursday mornings from 9am to 13h on the Place Saint-Seurin. We appreciate the delicious local produce and seasonal!

resort, it's basically summer that are organized events that punctuate the life of the Porge. Of particular note is the big party organized on the occasion of the French national holiday. From 20h, July 14, visit the esplanade Brémontier to share the giant paella, watch the fireworks and participate in the great dance hall.

• The beaches are very popular in summer, but you only have to step out of the way a little to discover the richness of this environment. Forest, dune and beach are home to a unique flora and fauna. Resurgence zones, sea leashes, ray egg capsules and erosion are just a few examples of what you can discover on this site ! - You'll be accompanied by a naturalist guide from the CPIE. - Appropriate clothing for the outing : - Bring closed shoes, water and weather-appropriate clothing.
