Municipality of Finistère, in Brittany, La Roche-Maurice takes place downstream of the Elorn valley, between Landivisiau and Landerneau. It is located in Léon, not far from Pencran, Plouédern and Saint-Servais, seventy kilometers from Quimper.
Occupied since prehistoric times, the territory of La Roche-Maurice led to the discovery of many Roman remains in the 1970s. Resulting from a dismemberment of the former parish of primitive Armorica of Ploudiry, the town has a very strongly linked to that of its castle, owned in the 5th century by a lord named Elorn.
From its rich past, the Breton town has preserved some beautiful monuments to discover during a stay in the region.
