Labeled Small City of Character, La Roche-Bernard is surprising you. Planted along the Vilaine, the town of Morbihan has a charming harbor and outstanding historic district. Bordered by a landscape of peninsula in the south by Guérandaise and west by the Rhuys, the town thrives on the green banks of the Vilaine. The Atlantic Ocean is about twenty kilometers away. Founded by a certain Bernard in the eleventh century, the city thrives on its commercial port and becomes one of the baronies of the Duchy of Brittany. In 1547, the city converted to Protestantism under the leadership of Lord François de Coligny, before returning gradually to Catholicism. His shipyard becomes important when there Richelieu command Crown flagship of the Royal Navy in 1629. Events and festivities

Every Thursday morning, the market is held in the upper town around the church and in its alleys. Your basket will quickly fill local products in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Every 2 years is held Vilaine en Fête. It is the opportunity for the lovers of the traditional boats to meet in early May for a regatta on the Vilaine. Throughout the event, the quays are animated by concerts and animations, including nautical baptisms. In the evening, fireworks are fired at the end of the night parade.

The 1st weekend of August, it is the Garennes festival that is played. The name of this festival comes from the place where the event takes place: the sumptuous Garennes gardens. Artists succeed each other on the stage for the greatest pleasure of music lovers from the smallest to the greatest. Relaxed and family atmosphere are on the program.
