The Saint-Mansuy church, named after the first bishop of Toul, is located at Fontenoy-le-Château, in the Vosges, 35 km southwest of Épinal.
The Flamboyant Gothic building was built in the 15th and 16th centuries on the foundations of a Romanesque church of the 11th century, some remains of which remain (a swimming pool, that is to say an arrangement allowing water to flow through the ritual purification).
In addition, the church houses an organ from 1891 and is adorned with a massive bell tower Empire style stands (nineteenth).
In addition to the cylindrical buttresses (a rarity on the architectural level), the typical southern portal of the Renaissance or the superb openings of the apse, there are some interior elements which make the richness of this harmonious church. Such as the altar consists of a single piece of stone, carved in sandstone extracted in the region. The stone pulpit decorated with salamander-shaped sculptures and the baptismal font (restored in 2007) are also remarkable, as are the stained glass windows and the chapel. Moreover, in several places, one recognizes the coat of arms of the old lords of the locality.
The Saint-Mansuy church has been classified as a historical monument since 1922.
