An 18th century building located in Cherbourg-en-Cotentin, in the Manche department, Querqueville castle now houses the town hall of the town. Built in the Floris valley, this former manor was briefly occupied by the English in the middle of the 18th century when they landed in Normandy.
The Château de Querqueville takes the form of a long quadrangular building with half-buried cellars and a raised ground floor. On the façade, visitors can admire a slightly protruding pavilion bordered by two granite pilasters and surmounted by a triangular pediment. The wings, on the other hand, have two registers of four low-arched windows.
Several elements of the Château de Querqueville have been included in the supplementary inventory of Historic Monuments, such as the fireplace in the mayor's cabinet in molded limestone carved with Louis XV style decorations or even a marble bathtub. white marble from the First Empire.
