"Once upon a time" was a story, a place, a project, a guest house... Otherwise! Like Candide, Voltaire's character, after having spent a large part of "my lives" travelling the world, I decided to settle in the Limousin countryside to "Cultivate my garden", reconnect with the essential, with nature and try to live differently! This place, in which I welcome you, is located in the center of a 1.8 hectare site. It is located 10 km north of the centre of Saint Yrieix La Perche (87500), in the heart of the triangle Limoges, Brive la Gaillarde, Périgueux, and 2 steps from the Périgord Limousin regional park. It is a land of art, history and gastronomy set in a green, hilly, sublime and preserved setting. I welcome you to my home, as part of an evolving, global and multifaceted project. I have been working since the beginning of 2020 to renovate the interior of the house, which was my first challenge. One of the objectives of this project is to achieve a certain degree of self-sufficiency in food, water and energy. It includes a vegetable garden, an orchard, a greenhouse, a chicken coop and is developing by drawing inspiration from the principles of Permaculture and low-tech... It aims to be respectful of the environment, biodiversity and nature as a whole. I hope that it will become a space for sharing, conviviality, and raising awareness of the issues of our time, without any rhetoric, but with respect... - I propose to welcome you in two bright, comfortable guest rooms, equipped with their bathroom - I provide you with indoor and outdoor common areas in which I can make myself available to those who wish, for light or serious discussions... or both... - You will also find areas of intimacy, calm, relaxation, conducive to contemplation, introspection, meditation... - In addition, the region is perfect for hiking, cycling or horseback riding, or to get away from it all and start a return to your essentials... - "Once upon a time" is the beginning of the beautiful stories, So welcome to mine, which is enriched by yours!
