Les Eaux Tranquilles welcomed its first guests in 2002. It is located at the foot of the Pyrenees, at an altitude of 360 m. The river Aude is part of the garden. It is ideally located and cannot be beaten by any other Bed & Breakfast in the area for its location. We are located between Perpignan and Carcassonne (the city), just 4 km south of Quillan, at the entrance to the famous Pierre-Lys gorge.
Set on one hectare of private land with access via a private road, it is a great location if you want peace and quiet during your holiday while still having excellent amenities such as banks, supermarkets, post office etc. nearby.
This region of France is renowned for its activities such as walking, hiking, cycling on and off road (we can arrange bike rental), rafting, canyoning, hydro speed. If you love history, we have the famous Cathar castles and are only an hour from the medieval city of Carcassonne. There are of course many beautiful villages, lakes and forests to visit if you just want to explore the area.
We are 90 minutes from the Spanish border and three hours from Barcelona (a day visit to Gaudi's famous Sagrada Basilica is possible). The nearest Mediterranean beach is about 75 minutes away. We also have many lakes and beaches for you to visit. Our nearest is a Quillan just 10 minutes away.
