Au Portaou

We spent 6 nights at Au Portaou in the superb 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom gite, which was very comfortable, well equipped and very reasonably priced. Hans and Patricia were fantastic hosts, providing us with great tips for places to visit in the fabulous countryside nearby (including some of the most beautiful spots I and my children have ever had the opportunity to swim in)! We had free access to the beautiful gardens surrounding Hans and Patricia's lovely home (including the table tennis which my Daughter loved)! There is even a beautiful nearby stream for a cooling paddle! But perhaps best of all, were the delicious 5 course meals we enjoyed with other guests staying in the chambres D'hote and the second smaller gite, all prepared by Hans' Son David (a former chef), and Patricia. Hans was the perfect host (translating into 3 languages where necessary so we could enjoy the company of his other German guests) and the dishes were delicious. Dont miss out in the wonderful local trout! I cannot recommend a stay at Au Portaou highly enough, and would love to return (next week if I could)!
