Le Grand Moulin

From the moment we arrived at the gite it was like a home from home, really comfortable and well equipped. Because of the description and photos on the web site we felt as though we were familiar with the place already and quickly settled in. We were made to feel very welcome by Sarah and Bill, who were around for a chat (if you wanted one) but tried hard not to encroach on your privacy but were excellent hosts and could not do enough to help make the holiday special. As keen walkers we discovered lots of local walks in the area and enjoyed the lovely villages, food and countryside. The grounds are beautiful and the the lovely pool came into it's own with the hot weather. We stayed for three weeks, which were so relaxing that by the time we left to go home we were practically horizontal! If you enjoy comfortable surroundings, peace and quiet and the relaxing sound of running water, we can certainly recommend Le Grand Moulin.

Just spent a fabulous week's holiday at Le Grand Moulin. The gite was fantastic, spotless, lovely personal touches & an excellent welcome pack was provided. The grounds were beautiful with a gorgeous pool & a very relaxing break was had by all of us. Sarah & Bill are excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back can't recommend this place enough.

It was so beautiful with a large lake and a river that flowed at the bottom of the grounds. The grounds were kept to a very high standard with lawns, that were mowed to perfection, and different shrubs and trees. There were a few seating areas and a barbacue that we used on one occassion. We spent alot of our day sat by the pool enjoying the peaceful suroundings that consisted of the birds in song and the small frogs that lived in the lake. We also swam in the pool that was always ready to use each morning. We took walks around the picturesque village aswell as visiting nearby villages. We were welcomed everywhere we went. We were able to fill the fridge with foods from the nearby supermarket in Ruffec that had everything you could think of to buy. Our hosts were very welcoming and helped us with anything we needed. They made our stay comfortable in every way possible. The Gite that we stayed in had all the amenities that we needed and was very clean. The bed was so comfortable we slept soundly each night and woke up refreshed each morning. We have no complaints to make and cannot think of any improvements needed. We felt at home and relaxed here and fell in-love with this beautiful part of France. We are planning to visit again in September of this year.
