Our medieval village has all the amenities necessaries for your stay (restaurant, café, bakery, grocery store…), and numerous walking trails start almost right out the front door to walk through our magical landscapes composed of vineyards, olive orchards and our enchanting garrigue. On a clear day, you will see the Pyrenees mountains and the gorgeous Canigou, a sacred mountain. Casa Lavineira gets its name from the old occitan Casa (house) and one of the original names of the village of La Livinière (Lavineira) dating back to 1069. You'll be seduced by the way we renovated this old vegetable peddler's house (they would sell through the big window downstairs), keeping a good bit of the beautiful original stone walls, and pairing them with exquisite travertine tile, environmentally friendly clay covered walls and wood. The downstairs ceiling is a rare but typical "French style ceiling" which we restored to its original appearance. We furnished Casa Lavineira with details that blend in with the house, but also add special touches which make guests feel right at home in a cozy, warm and charming space.
