La Côte Plage is located near Istres, in the heart of Provence. This charming property is located directly on the north coast of the Etang de Berre. 5 houses 2 to 7 persons swimming pool, trampoline, ping-pong, boules area, etc. are at your disposal. The Etang de Berre is the largest saltwater lake in Europe, also known as "the Sea of Berre". Via Le canal de Caronte at Martigues you will come directly to the Mediterranean Sea. Surf boards and small boats can be taken free of charge to take full advantage of this huge inland sea. If there is no Mistral, a sea breeze will be set up every afternoon. Of course, you can also swim in the lake. The young children who are not yet able to swim must always walk around with a life vest or wings and stay under the sight of a parent. The grounds are not suitable for people who have difficulty walking, too irregular and with many small walls and stairs. The car is essential, we are not well served by public transport. If you want to come by plane it is very simple and relatively inexpensive. Marseille-Provence Airport is 35 km away. We give the possibility to early bookers to rent from thursday to thursday, from friday to friday or from saturday to saturday. This way you can dodge the traffic jams and enjoy the summer festivities that are often on the weekends. The distance to Istres is 3 km. It is a cosy small town with many shops and nice restaurants, as well as a cinema, a theatre, a bowling. Tuesday morning is the market throughout the centre, an ideal time to explore the city and have a good cup of coffee on a nice terrace in the sun. From Istres you can take a nice walk along the Etang de Berre or along the other lake, the Etang de l'Olivier. There you can rent little electric boats and bicycles. Free sports in public places in the outdoors is also a trend here. Tennis courts are available to everyone. For golf enthusiasts there are several golf clubs in Miramas, Mouriès, Les Baux de Provence etc. The nearest sandy beach is just before the centre of Istres, 3 km away. Since a few years you can rent a jet ski in the summer, you can be drawn in a buoy over the lake and you can even do flyboarding. The sandy beaches of the sea, at Fos sur Mer and Martigues are around 12 km away. Both train stations from Miramas and Istres are about 5 km away. Marseille-Provence Airport is just 35 km away. Unfortunately there is no bus to Istres or Miramas, but you can easily rent a car for the time of your stay. Due to the geographic location of La Côte Plage, all the beauty of Provence is nearby. Les Alpilles with Les Baux de Provence, Fontvieille and Saint Rémy de Provence, as well as La Côte Bleue, can be reached within 20 minutes. La Camargue and Le Luberon are less than an hour's drive away. The towns of Arles, Aix en Provence, Marseille and Avignon are also nearby (between 40 and 60 min.).
