La Plaine - Fajoles

A superb property in a rural hamlet offering a peaceful location for getting away from the stress and strains of everyday life with all the necessary facilities to make a holiday enjoyable for all age groups. Tuksumduin is a superb renovation of a 19th century barn which has been converted to create two luxurious self contained four bedroom gîtes. Set in tranquil countryside in the golden triangle between the 'Cité Médiévale' of Gourdon, Sarlat and Rocamadour & is 3.5 km from the Dordogne border, with the Dordogne River being just 5.5 km away. The barns are well situated for all the sites and attractions the area offers. The barn has the advantage of the early morning sun at the front of the property until the afternoon and the afternoon and evening sun at the rear, making the patio decking ideal for evening dining.

A Great Place to Stay
Just returned from a great two-week family holiday in Nicotiana. We were 10 in number from 13 to 81years. It's in a beautiful location in the Dordogne and within reach of so many historical attractions. We got to visit caves, chateaux, local markets, lovely towns and villages, enjoyed a 16 kilometre canoe run down the Dordogne, and great walks and cycle runs. We cooked in and ate out as the mood took us. The accommodation has been well developed and the warm welcome extended to us by Bob and Megan could not have been better. The 9 of us who arrived on the evening of the first day greatly appreciated the welcome pack and excellent meal provided by Megan. And her lemon drizzle cake is just superb – didn't last long with our lot ! Bob and Megan were always on hand to offer advice and were most generous in allowing us to remain (free of charge) for two extra days necessitated by illness. A great family holiday that will live long in our memories. Johnstons (Northern Ireland) - 15th July/2nd August, 2017 -

Perfect base for touring this area of France
This is a great place for a family or small group to use as a base for touring along the rivers and small towns, each day taking a different route. You do need a car (unless you're cycling) as it's not in a town, but it is near to a number of small towns. The hosts are really great in that they provisioned the place with a few essentials. When we arrived there was a great loaf of bread and a home-made cake, plus some butter, jam and condiments so that for a short stay you don't have to go and buy loads of bottles of things you will hardly use. There's a washer and dryer as well as the fully-equipped kitchen. It is also wonderfully quiet, being in the countryside. Robert, the host was also very helpful for places to go and how to get to the nearby restaurants and towns like Gourdon which I found a lovely place. All in all I recommend this place highly.

A Fantastic Time
We have had a fantastic time here in the Dordogne. The meal on arrival prepared by Megan was delicious and the welcome pack was gratefully received. The house is really comfortable and has everything you need. We were blessed by the weather and we all enjoyed the attractions in the area – There really is something for all ages here. It was great to have Bob & Megan next door and they really helped by providing that local knowledge that makes all the difference. Will be recommending to others and planning to return ourselves. Many thanks for a great stay.
