Once a stable, our charming vacation cottage is located on a quiet country road between the pretty Breton villages of Gouarec & Laniscat, in the heart of Brittany. Recently converted for up to 3 people, the stable is ideal for a couple or small family. The property presents a range of exposed stone walls and original wooden beams, and a lounge/diner of 44m² and a master bedroom with beautiful exposed A-frames. The large open kitchen allows great flexibility for meals. The breakfast bar is ideal for a small meal but if you prefer to sit more formally, you can use the separate dining area. The living area is furnished with a large comfortable suite, making those memorable romantic evenings in front of the log-burner.
The lawn and the private patio on the side and rear of the property are a real sun trap and sun loungers and parasols are available. Also a large wooden table with seating for outdoor dining and a table and bistro style chairs for morning coffee or an evening drink. Set in over an acre of mature gardens surrounded by tall beautiful trees where you can, depending on the season, take your pick of apples, pears, plums, cherries, figs, walnuts & hazelnuts. Or just relax with a good book in the shade of our centennial oaks. We are surrounded by green hills and wooded valleys and quiet. The area is full of ancient monuments, old churches and historic medieval towns. This part of Brittany is a gift for hikers, cyclists, birdwatchers, anglers and nature lovers. Empty trails, flowery meadows, hidden valleys and lush forests abound. It really is a place where you can breathe out and relax.
The largest lake in Brittany, Lake Guerlédan and the Nantes-Brest canal are less than 10 minutes away. You will find sandy beaches suitable for families and water sports such as kayaking, windsurfing and water skiing. There are a variety of dining options scattered around the lake, including boat dinners during the summer months. The southern and northern coasts are both an hour away, giving you the best of worlds. Driving in Britain is not a problem - the roads are well maintained and never crowded.
