This is a pleasant and comfortable apartment in an attractive old building in Foix
The apartment is bright and simply furnished with all you need and more. It is very quiet and the bed is extremely comfortable. There is a pretty little courtyard garden to sit in and enjoy sunshine. From the windows you look directly up at the castle, which is floodlit at night. It is an excellent base from which to explore this area by train, bus or car. The little two-burner cooker caused me some difficulty but we only cooked asparagus and eggs so it was not too much of a problem. There is a microwave which most people would probably use.

A Charming Apartment in a Medieval Village
Our hosts could not have been more welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The front door of the accommodation was right in the centre of town but once you closed the door it was very quiet except for the church bell and the birds singing. The 6 apartments looked over a lovely garden where you could have meals when the weather was nice. The accommodation was comfortable, spotlessly clean and new and reasonably priced too for 3 star rating. The linen was really clean (something I always worry about). Foix is a wonderful old medieval town with lots to do and see in the area. We were there for a month and still didn't see everything. There were many many restaurants some of them really excellent. The Plat du Jour at lunchtime was 7-8 €; coffee or tea was an extra 40 cents. The cost of living in Foix is much lower than other places in France. It is not really a tourist town. On market day each Friday you could even buy fresh milk straight from the cow that comes in a stainless steel vat. I was able to get my nails done and hair coloured exactly the same as in Melbourne, same products etc. While we were in Foix the French National Musical Festival was on and there was entertainment all over town. I especially enjoyed the Gospel Singers. The conductor was a top opera singer who sang in (the best performance ever) of Carmen 2 or 3 years ago in Melbourne. After the Gospel singing she did a quick change and entertained us with popular opera arias.. The night before we left Verdi's Requiem was performed in the lovely old 11th century church with 300 choristers and orchestra from USA mixed with some local choristers. It was truly magnificent.

Excellent from every perspective
I stayed here for one week in the fall of 2011 and recommend it highly. The studio apartment was immaculate and well equipped with a small kitchen, desk, wardrobe, private bath and bed. Everything worked well from the heating, lighting, ventilation, appliances and free wi-fi connection. It is centrally located in the charming town of Foix, placing everything in walking distance. The owners are knowledgeable, fun, responsible and easy going. The studio I stayed in would be suitable for a single or couple. I would return without hesitation and recommend it even for stays longer than a week.

We had a lovely stay in Foix and we enjoyed the apartment at 9 Rue Chapelliers
Our apartment was very comfortable and it had Wi-Fi which made my husband quite happy as he does not like to miss his New York Times every day. Everything worked well in the aparmetn and the courtyard was pretty to look out onto each morning. As a traveler who has stayed in many places in France, the price is extremely reasonable for all the amenities.

A Fantastic stay in a great apartment
We truly enjoyed our 7 days in Foix. The apartment was great and Corinne and Alain made us very welcome. They even helped us to book into a tour of the pre historic caves at Niaux. We would have loved to spend more time in this idyllic area. The town of Foix is not only central but is a beautiful place to base. There was so much to see and do and we travelled as far afield as Carcassonne, Lourdes, the Cirque du Gavarnie and Rennes le Chateaux. Our only disappointment was not being able to drive to the top of the Col du Tourmalet due to snow. The views from the Pic du Midi were amazing. We would love to return and would have no hesitation in staying again with Corinne.
