Created in 1988 by the nurseryman Jean Renault, the Renaudies Gardens, at Colombiers-du-Plessis in the hedged farmland of Mayenne, are home to more than 3000 varieties of flowering plants, trees and shrubs, spread out over 4 hectares, amongst which are many rare plants brought back from different countries. Azaleas, rhododendrons, camellias, hydrangeas, roses and perennials abound there, for the greatest delight of lovers of plants and flowering shrubs!
It also has a fun, educational old-fashioned kitchen garden, an information circuit, dedicated to understanding the long-term management of the garden, as well as a rural eco-museum in the old 19th century farm, all about the way of life and skills of bygone days.
The Garden's calendar includes many permanent and temporary activities and exhibitions of paintings and sculptures.
