Situated south of Orléans, the Parc Floral de la Source is a magnificent 35-hectare landscaped garden divided into wonderful themed areas: a dahlia garden, an extraordinary vegetable garden, an iris garden, a rose garden opposite the château and a garden where the Loiret River has its source. There's also a large aviary and an exotic butterfly house.

A rose show is held there every year in September.

In Orleans, this landscaped park of 35 hectares, the label holder Remarkable Garden, the center welcomes the birth of the Loiret, a small tributary of the Loire. iris garden, rose garden, rock garden, extraordinary vegetable garden, dahlia garden, Asian garden, tropical garden, perennial ribbons, collections pelargoniums, fuchsias and presentation of hundreds of old trees are all areas to discover and rediscover the seasons. Real place of relaxation, the Parc Floral de la Source is a privileged site in which to take the time to stroll, to laugh with playgrounds, relax sitting in a chair, curled up in a poof or lying in the grass before a mini-golf, badminton or after a picnic.
Several gardens adorn the Parc Floral de la Source, Orléans-Loiret: this is what offers this diversity of places and spaces. In one place you can see the alpine flora, aquatic flora, native flora and many more! The flower park boasts of banishment there some years, of any pesticide or herbicide. The fertilizer excessively is no longer used as it was 40 years ago, which means may be fewer flowers but certainly better qualities and especially more respect for the environment. Floral Park Source Orléans-Loiret is in a process of restoration, preservation and good environmental practices. The flower park is trying to change attitudes and voluntarily leaves space spontaneous (but still controlled and defined) by limiting the intervention of gardeners to show that grass is not high "dirty" and remove them systematically is bad for the ecosystem. This allows for more development of microflora and microfauna of which disappeared after all those years of pesticides. For preventive or curative treatments, used vegetable oils, predatory insects, micro-insects, plants or associations of fragrant plants. The goal of these techniques is to promote organic farming and biodiversity while maintaining the floral character of the place.
Animal Park, be enchanted by the eyes of Diego alpaca, Jojo Juju and donkeys, but also dwarf goats, sheep or the farmyard. Also discover the birds of Africa, Oceania and Asia of the tropical zone (Eastern Rosella, Lovebirds, Parakeets Barraband, Alexander the Great...) and the birds of the Loiret (flamingos, crowned mergansers, mandarins, carolins...). Come to their feeding every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10:30 in season! Be seduced by the tropical greenhouse of 250 m² or more than fifty butterflies flutter around you!

Entertainment:

Three times in the summer (one Saturday per month from June to August), discover the night park during night-Saturday: forget the time and spend an evening out of time in the tranquility of the park floral! The shows can be enjoyed from 20:30 after a cozy picnic in the grass, a friendly mini-golf or a nice walk in love, last entry and ticket office closes at 21:30, park closes at 23h. The opportunity to discover the flora and fauna of the night complete with a nice show!
To satisfy the thirst for knowledge of budding explorers, come attend educational workshops every second Wednesday of the month (April to August). The animations were developed to familiarize progressively younger with nature based on concrete examples, present floral park. Children over 6 years and their parents stay free of charge by two facilitators from 14h to 17h. Instructive afternoons are not less recreation!
Every last Sunday of the month from April to September at 15:30, the children and their parents are invited to meet for a show (singing, puppetry, circus, storytelling..) which will delight the whole family. Thoughts and designed for young audiences, representations, although fun, arouse the curiosity of the youngest and sensitize them to respect the environment.

Opening hours of the park:

Late March to early October opening of the park every day from 10h to 19h (18h last admission).
In early October to mid-November: opening of the park every day from 10am to 18pm (last entry 17h).
Mid-November to late March: opening of the park every day from 14h to 17h (closed December 25 and January 1, butterfly house closed, open access, last 16h entry).

Park Admission prices:

Individual: Adult: 6 € - Children 6 to 16 years: 4 € - Children under 6 years free.
Group (minimum 20 people): Adults: € 5 - Children 6 to 16 years: 2,50 € - Children 3 to 5 years: € 1.5.
Subscriptions for the season (valid all season, every day even for shows): Adult € 15 - Children 6-16 years: 10 €.
