Lake Geneva

This huge expanse of water, with a surface area of 58,000 hectares, has a total of 167 kilometres of French-Swiss banks, among which 54 kilometres are on the French site. Numerous boat trips are available on the lake, especially taking visitors over to the Swiss shores and in particular Geneva. There are several harbours along the French shores of Lake Geneva, such as Évian-les-Bains, Yvoire, Thonon-les-Bains and Saint-Gingolph. Picturesque fishing harbours can also be explored in the village of Meillerie and the scenic Rives district of Thonon-les-Bains, which is also home to a fishing and lake heritage museum.
