The Hector Berlioz Museum stands in the centre of the town of La Côte-Saint-André in the birth house of the famous composer and writer Hector Berlioz. It recounts the life and work of the musician through a permanent exhibition and an interesting collection of antique furniture, original scores, musical instruments, paintings, engravings and original letters. The visit takes in the main drawing room, small drawing room/library, kitchen, Berlioz's bedroom and the music room, all of which are steeped in memories of the Berlioz family.

Symphony-loving music fans must not miss the Berlioz Festival that takes place every second half of August in the courtyard of the Château Louis XI.

The Musee Hector Berlioz recreates the world of the famous artist born in La Côte-Saint-André: discover his loves, his family, listen to music and enjoy the tranquility of the courtyard. antique furniture, original scores, correspondence and musical instruments that belonged to Hector Berlioz, paintings and engravings adorn the rooms of the house that have retained their original decor. An audio guide allows us to understand the personality of the composer, while the auditorium has tuned his greatest works.
