The Hector Berlioz Museum stands in the centre of the town of La Côte-Saint-André in the birth house of the famous composer and writer Hector Berlioz. It recounts the life and work of the musician through a permanent exhibition and an interesting collection of antique furniture, original scores, musical instruments, paintings, engravings and original letters. The visit takes in the main drawing room, small drawing room/library, kitchen, Berlioz's bedroom and the music room, all of which are steeped in memories of the Berlioz family.
Symphony-loving music fans must not miss the Berlioz Festival that takes place every second half of August in the courtyard of the Château Louis XI.
