Les Deux Alpes is an international ski resort located in the heart of the Oisans mountains in the Alps, 70 km from Grenoble. It boasts a vast ski area with 227 km of trails and is known for its great sports facilities and atmosphere, varied entertainment, shops, restaurants, bars and nightclubs.

It also offers a large number of outdoor activities in the summer: mountain biking, summer glacier skiing at 3,600 m altitude, climbing, walking, tennis, pool swimming, horse riding, bungee jumping and paragliding. A top destination for sports enthusiasts!

Les Deux Alpes are a common Isere, region Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, 70 km southeast of Grenoble.

If the municipality was created on 1 January 2017, sports resort of Deux Alpes winters in the Ecrins Mountains, has existed since 1930 and was spread on the localities of Mont-de-Lans and Venosc which eventually merge.

Initiated by pioneers before the second war (implantation of a first ski lift in 1938) is starting 1950 as the station takes off, adopting its name in 1954, the tracks being on the mountain pastures of two cities...

The residences are developed at the slopes before either built a new pole, "The Village", north-east, center of the old village of Venosc remains more typical.

With a little more than 2 000 permanent inhabitants but more than 30,000 residents in the season Les Deux Alpes was the first resort to offer daily ski passes.

The Deux Alpes resort offers skiing in winter and summer. It also opens the Thanksgiving holiday. The station is also directly accessible from the village of Vénosc by gondola Venosc-Les 2 Alpes, summer and winter.

Its success is the importance of its ski area (over 220 km of tracks) of which remains snow covered and accessible to skiers in summer. A funicular and fifty "traditional" ski lifts operate between the bottom of the slopes (1650 m) and heights (3500 m).

Very lively and with plenty of activities for fans of winter sports lovers as natural mountain environments Les Deux Alpes consistently ranks in the best French stations in terms of attendance.

In the valley Vénéon, 1000 meters above sea level, Vénosc, offers a rare compromise. The village allows the practice of many activities, summer and winter. Access to the resort of Les 2 Alpes at 1650 meters, is done in 8 minutes by gondola Venosc.

Les Deux Alpes:

For ski enthusiasts, the resort Les Deux Alpes offers 96 slopes for all levels, a snowpark (freestyle skiing) and three tracks in Nordic skiing. In summer, a third of the lifts remain in service.

In summer, hikes of varying difficulty to or comprising the territories of Deux Alpes allow to enjoy remarkable views and observe the fauna and flora of the outstanding Ecrins National Park. Brochures and information +33 4 76 79 22 00.

A nine-hole golf deemed highly technical (information +33 4 76 80 52 89), paragliding instructors experienced company (tel. 26 60 6 July 72) and Lake of Buissonnière (lake publicly 1 June to 30 September with supervised swimming, information +33 4 76 79 24 24) are among the activities or websites popular with vacationers.

Not forgetting rafting, horseback riding or summer tobogganing (contact +33 4 76 79 22 00) and the pleasures of swimming to the Croisette pool (outdoor heated pool, wellness facilities like steam bath and hot tub, tel. +33 4 76 79 22 73 76) or pool Venosc (open basin with summer slide only, tel. +33 4 76 80 19 20 79 20).

At the Maison de la Montagne, exhibits on the natural and cultural heritage are proposed, as well as entertainment in collaboration with the National Park Ecrins and Oisans Geological Center. Information at +33 4 76 80 04 24.

At Café Museum Chasal Lento, cohabiting House of arts and popular traditions that evokes the daily life of yesteryear in the mountains and a convivial space (bar, musical readings). Temporary exhibitions and events punctuate the seasons. Inquire +33 4 76 80 23 97.

Finally, do not forget the beautiful panorama and thrills offered by the Belvedere Écrins, literally a suspension bridge above the vacuum over 3400 m above sea level! Accessible from the exit of the funicular. Pedestrian Price: 20.80 and 26 euros.

Les Deux Alpes:

In March, a week, the Snowfest is a freestyle festival with musical entertainment.

The last weekend in June, the Outdoor Festival is an exhibition bringing together the major disciplines Outdoor (skiing, mountain biking, trail, etc.) for entertainment combining initiation and usability.

The first Sunday of August, the festival of Hay combines folk entertainment, games of yesteryear, traditional entertainment, flea market and regional products.

In mid-December, a week, the Rise of numerous electronic music concerts Festival program.

Every week, finally, weekly markets for local specialties take place Tuesday morning in Venosc and Mont-de-Lans on Wednesday morning.
