Built in the 17th century, the magnificent Château de Cormatin is surrounded by moats filled with water and a magnificent 12-hectare park featuring flowerbeds, a traditional kitchen garden, a box tree maze, ornamental lakes, and 200-year-old lime trees.
Inside the château, visitors will discover the gilded rooms of the most luxurious Louis XIII painted apartment still in existence in France.
The Marquis of Huxelles have built in the early 17th century to show their power and prestige: wide moat, turrets, stand up to bosses, gunboats and drawbridge, the castle was made to impress. He succeeded to this day.
