A vast expanse of water covering 185 hectares, Cébron Lake, at the heart of Gâtine near Saint-Loup-Lamairé, is the main drinking water production site in the Deux-Sèvres. Nestling in a tranquil environment that's ideal for rest and recuperation, this peaceful place is wonderful for watching wild birds...nearly 250 species have been spotted here!
From mid-April to mid-September, water sports fans can go windsurfing or sail Optimist boats on the lake. As well as these activities, you can also fish for pike, zander and perch, relax on the sandy beaches, and take a walk around the lake!
Bird-watching trips to the Cébron observatory, as well as nature activities, take place throughout the year.
