A lively district in Paris' 4th arrondissement, served by the Rambuteau, Hôtel de Ville and Châtelet - Les Halles metro stations, Beaubourg attracts visitors with its friendly atmosphere as well as its cultural attractions. Its main asset is the world-famous Centre Georges Pompidou, a bastion of modern and contemporary culture whose unique architecture charms and surprises passing tourists in equal measure. After visiting this famous art museum, you can stop by the magnificent Stravinsky fountain nearby and admire its various black and multi-coloured mechanical sculptures, created by the famous artists Jean Tinguely and Niki de Saint Phalle. Next door, you can also visit the flamboyant Gothic Church of St Merri, before going for a drink on one of the many local cafe terraces.
On the piazza near the Centre Pompidou, you can often see street performers, with jugglers, clowns, actors and musicians giving it all they've got to entertain the public!
