Jewel of the Renaissance period, the Anet castle was built in the 16th century by the architect Philibert Delorme for Diane of Poitiers, the favourite of king Henri II.
Once past the entrance gate featuring a clock, visitors take a tour that includes the main courtyard, the left wing of the castle with the bedroom of Diane de Poitiers, the underground portico looking onto the gardens, the castle chapel and the funeral chapel of Diane de Poitiers, and the charming park along the canal.
