Wolf Trail (Berlencourt-le-Cauroy)

Depart from the town of Berlencourt-le-Cauroy, latitude 50.2822500 (N 50° 16’ 56”), longitude 2.4263300 (E 2° 25’ 35”)

• Face the starting sign take left and then right to the ordeal. - You pass the Church of Saint-Sulpice de Berlencourt dated the 16th and 17th centuries. Near the sign you will find a presentation panel of the commune.
• At the crossroads take a left following the Rue de la Solette towards Denier. Follow the red and white marks of the GR121 to point 3. On your left, you will discover the Canche Valley.
• At the entrance to Denier, bypass the floor on the right, then enter the dirt road towards Lamont Wood. Leave several operating trails that engage in the woods. - Mentioned as early as the 13th century, Denier is a charming commune surrounded by woods at the foot of the Canche valley.
• Walk along the woods of Lamont and Fay following the dirt road to the village of Blavincourt. At the crossroads continue straight on the D78. - You pass the Church of St. Peter of Blavincourt from the 17th and 18th centuries.
• 200m after the last house, take the dirt road on the left just before entering Beaufort.
• Walk for 1km and take the second dirt lane to the right. At the crossroads take the D78 on the left for a few meters and take another dirt lane on the right.
• At the cemetery, take a left and leave the village. Follow the red and white markings of the GR121 to stage 13. - Beaufort and Blavincourt were reunited in 1858 in a single commune. It is named after the Beauffort family, which appeared as early as 1125.
• At the ordeal, take the dirt road to the left. At the crossroads, cross the D78 and follow the paved path in front of you. Continue and leave a paved lane on your right.
• Take the "Alley of the Tilleuls" on your left facing Givenchy-le-Noble Castle. - Note on your right the classical-style castle built in the early 18th century by François de Lélès, general receiver of artois' finances. The "Alley of the Tilleuls" you use already existed in the 18th century. It connects the castles of Givenchy-le-Noble and Lignereuil. The lime trees form a 1300m vegetable vault. - In this alley stands a medieval-style tower that happens to be the water tower built in 1858. - At the end of the driveway, leave the department and continue on the private road behind the Château de Lignereuil. - This beautiful 17th century castle was restored in the 20th century. Next to it is the Church of St. Martin, which was built from the 15th century to the 18th century.
• At the end of the road, take on the left the Rue du Fay.
• In the turn, leave the Rue du Fay to take the Rue des Vignes on your right and follow the pebble street (earth road in the small wood). Continue for about 2.5km to Denier.
• Enter Denier and follow Liencourt Street on the left. - Denier has a small 20th century church, near which you will find a sign of the town.
• Pass the floor on the right and take the dirt road on the right.
• At the intersection, take a left of the road that goes down.
• At the crossroads take a left the paved lane that joins Berlencourt-le-Cauroy to the starting sign.
