From Die, take the D578 towards the Rousset Pass (Col de Rousset) for 200 m. At the 1st bend, go straight ahead on the D543 towards Ponet. 1.2 km further, at the fork, turn left and follow the little road to the village of Ponet, where you can park next to the fountain.

Continue along the picturesque narrow street lined with hollyhocks that winds between the houses, an extension of the street that brought you into the village. It soon leads out of the village and goes through a few hamlets, offering scenic views of the vines below. On the way, you can visit the recently restored hemp pond by the roadside. You then go on towards the Gîte de la Source cottage and Brasserie La Cavale. When you reach the last house, the little road turns left downhill along a vineyard. Note the rose bushes at the start of some of the rows of vines. Roses are more prone to certain diseases than vines, so are a good indicator of any dangers facing the vineyard. If they see an outbreak of cryptogamic or parasitic diseases among the roses, the winegrower can take the necessary measures to keep the vineyard healthy. The little road goes downhill in fits and starts, crossing streams with fords, which are generally dry except after heavy rain, finishing at the bridge with metal guardrails that you crossed over when entering the village. Just go back up this portion of the road to return to your starting point.
