You want to walk less than an hour: walking around the ramparts is ideal... - Imagine Vézelay with its influx of pilgrims which of course will arouse jealousies from the counts and bishops of the region. The ramparts built between the 12th and 14th century had a role of protection for the inhabitants and for the crowd that came to venerate the relics of Saint Mary Magdalene. Discover the magnificent 14th century Porte Neuve, but also the Red Tower, the Ursulines Tower... which surround the ramparts. After this tour, if you want to know more, choose to stroll through the narrow streets of the village and visit the basilica with an audio guide (rental at the tourist office).
