Montpeloux basaltic organs - Cascades du Creux de l'Oulette

Departure from the Town Hall of Saillant.

From the town hall of Saillant, take the D256 direction Eglisolles. Go down to the left then take the path on your right. At the level of a house, go around to the right, then join the road that you take to the left.

At about 150 m follow the first path on the right, and continue until the Ance. Follow the river up. Continue in the forest until Bostfranchet. Climb right on the tarmac road to the D139. Take it to the left for about 300 m, and at the chalet, turn left onto a tarred road. You will have a view of the valley of the Ance.

Cross the D139 and continue opposite on the road. Before the last house, turn right onto a path leading to the Montpeloux volcano. Take the path, turn left on the road, to cross the village of Montpeloux. Take the path on the right after the last chalet. Cross the D257 and continue climbing in the undergrowth.

In the clearing, turn right, then right again at the next fork. Then turn left twice, to reach another clearing. Continue straight ahead ignoring the "cascade" off. Before reaching the creek, turn right and walk along the fence. Then go down into the forest, turn left at the intersection. At the next junction turn left for a round trip to the waterfall. Then continue the circuit on the right.

Continue on the rocky trail to a clearing. Then take the road on the right. Cross the mountain and continue right on the D256. At about 200 m turn, take the path to the right. Cross the road and go down to the Fangody Cross. Take the path on the right, cross the road and go up to Bichelonne. Once arrived at the hamlet, take the road on the left, then join Saillant below.
