Hiking at Balvay Castle

Depart from the town of Bolozon, latitude 46.1917900 (N 46° 11’ 30”), longitude 5.4744600 (E 5° 28’ 28”)

• From the Saint Etienne Church, take the rue de la Serra which climbs towards the fountain in the direction of Napt.
• At the exit of the village, take the path of the Amont on the right. Follow the path that slants to the left, pass under the bridge of the SNCF then cross the paved road that reaches higher.
• 400 m further, at the intersection, make a return trip to the chapel of Notre-Dame de l'Etoile. Turn right and join NAPT. Cross the village and pass near the church of Saint Martin.
• After the banal oven, go down to the left, go past the laundry and take the first path that goes to the left in the forest. Go around the meadow and take the right path that leads to VERS.
• In front of the fountain, take the path that runs along the farm in a pasture, along the barbed wire, to push a baffle, follow the ridge to the left and go down along the trees to the bottom left of the meadow. Join the path that leads to SOLOMIAT.
• To the oven, turn right and pass the chapel Sainte Marie-Magdeleine. Then join BALVAY.
• In Balvay, return to the point of view of the ruins of the castle. Back to villmage, turn left on the path that goes down to BOLOZON.
